Independent preparation for the Texas electrical licensing examinations — Residential Wireman / Installer, Journeyman, and Master. Every question is written for this course and referenced to a location in the National Electrical Code, so you learn where a rule lives, not just what the answer is.

524 distinct authored questions per NEC edition. Each licence level sees its own items plus everything from the levels below it: 204 for Residential Wireman, 374 for Journeyman, and 524 for Master. They are genuinely different questions — not one question restated with different labels.

It is built to the published PSI subject outlines, and the exam-portion sessions mirror the real topic distribution. But no preparation product can promise a pass, and anyone who does is selling you something. Treat this as the drilling half of your preparation — the Code book in your hands on exam day is the other half.

Whichever your state enforces — that is not a preference. Pick your state on the Start here page and the course checks the current adoption at that moment and switches everything to the right edition: practice questions, references, and every download.

Because adoption changes on the states' schedules, not ours. The edition question is checked against the server the moment you choose a state, so a correction reaches you immediately rather than waiting for your browser to pick up a new build. If your state was saved from a previous visit, it is re-checked when you return.

Because we do not have it verified from two independent sources, and a guessed adoption year would send you to the wrong Code book — which is worse than telling you plainly that we do not know. Check with your state licensing board, then set the edition yourself. We are working through the unconfirmed states.

That happens, and the local authority having jurisdiction wins. State adoption is the default the course uses; if your AHJ enforces a different edition or local amendments, set the edition toggle yourself and study against what your board actually tests.

A practice session is the classic mixed set. An exam-portion session is shaped like one scored portion of the real examination, with topic quotas taken from the TDLR blueprint — Journeyman is 56 NEC Knowledge and 24 Calculations; Master is 70 and 30. Residential Wireman is a single examination, so it has no portion selector.

No. Sessions are drawn fresh, and questions you have seen least are favoured, so you work through the bank instead of drilling the same handful. Answer order is shuffled per question but stays stable for that question, so you are learning the rule rather than memorising “the answer is C”.

The interface is available in ten languages. In Spanish, the practice questions themselves are also fully translated — the question, all four answer choices, and the explanation. In the other languages the interface translates and the questions remain in English, because the examination itself is in English and a half-translated question bank would mislead you about what you will face.

On purpose. “210.8(A)(1)” and “Chapter 9, Table 1” are how those references are printed in the Code book you will be holding, so translating them would make them harder to find, not easier.

Yes, in either direction, and your answers and score carry across unchanged. If you ever see a question switch language but the score jump, that is a bug — please report it with the help button.

Check your device is not on silent — phones mute media before they mute ringtones — and that the tab is not muted. If a single question has no audio, that clip may be missing rather than broken; tell us which question id and we will re-cut it.

Sessions are stored against your signed-in account, so the usual cause is being signed out — or having started the session in a private window, which is discarded when you close it. If you were signed in the whole time, report it and include roughly when it happened.

Try a hard refresh first, which clears a stale cached build. If it persists, use the help button and say what you clicked and what happened — the page you are on, your language and your NEC edition are attached automatically, so you do not need to describe your setup.

Please tell us, and be specific about which one. Every item is authored in-house and referenced by hand, which means the errors that survive are ours. Reports that name the question and the reference get fixed fastest.
