Terms of Use and Purchase
What you get when you buy, what you may do with it, and how refunds and disputes are handled. Checkout links straight to the sections that matter.
Who we are
DFW AI Services LLC, doing business as Cortova, publishes CortovaVoltPrep, an independent electrician licensing exam-preparation program.
Cortova is an independent exam-preparation publisher. Cortova is not the licensing authority, not the exam vendor, and not the official publisher of the National Electrical Code. Cortova is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), PSI, or the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). Passing a Cortova practice session is not a license, a credential, or a guarantee of an exam result.
Your license to use the course
A purchase grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use CortovaVoltPrep for your own exam preparation during your access period.
Copying, recording, screen-capturing, sharing, reselling, scraping, reverse-engineering, or sharing an account is prohibited. The question bank, explanations, calculations, drills, videos, narration, and job aids are copyrighted and proprietary.
The Cortova name and mark are trademark-pending. Violations may result in termination of access without refund.
Purchase paths and access periods
Full Pass includes both the NEC Knowledge lane and the Calculations lane for 90 days from payment.
Technical Knowledge Only (Rescue) includes the NEC Knowledge lane for 60 days from payment.
Calculations Only (Rescue) includes the Calculations lane for 60 days from payment.
A Rescue purchase may be upgraded to Full Pass by paying the difference between the Full Pass price in effect and the Rescue price you paid; the upgrade unlocks both lanes and applies the Full Pass access period from the original purchase date or extends to 90 days from the upgrade, whichever is later.
Founder pricing applies to the first 100 paid Full Pass enrollments, then a second tier through the 500th paid Full Pass enrollment, then standard pricing. The counter counts paid Full Pass enrollments only. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay; a price change never applies to a checkout already started.
Referral codes and rewards
After a qualifying paid enrollment you may receive up to two single-use referral codes. Each code expires 14 days after it is issued, cannot be combined with any other discount, and gives the person you refer the same price you paid, never a lower one.
For each successful referred purchase you receive seven extra days of access, capped at fourteen extra days in total, applied after the referred payment clears.
If a referred purchase is refunded or charged back, the related reward days are reversed or flagged, and unused codes tied to a refunded or charged-back purchase are disabled.
Refund policy
Refunds are permitted within 7 days of purchase only if all of the following conditions are met:
- Less than 10% of the course has been completed.
- No major assessments have been taken.
- No referral benefits have been used.
- No terms have been violated.
All sales are final, except at Cortova's discretion.
Chargeback procedure
If a chargeback is initiated, we will:
- Pause access immediately.
- Disable any unused referral codes.
- Pause or flag any bonus days.
- Treat the course content as copyrighted and proprietary and respond to the dispute accordingly.
Student notes
Notes are for your own summaries, paraphrases, and calculation reminders. Copying or reproducing course content into notes is not permitted. Notes are checked for large blocks of copied course text; confirmed copying is logged, and after three confirmed incidents the notes feature is disabled for that account while course access continues.
Records and administration
Checkout consents, purchases, refunds, denials, access changes, referral events, note actions, and support tickets are recorded in an append-only audit log with timestamps and the policy version in force. Administrators review eligibility and approve or deny requests with a recorded reason.
Changes
These terms are version 2026-09-03.1. Cortova may update them; the version you agreed to at checkout is recorded with your purchase.
